Vancouver Is Awesome is a proud sponsor of The Chinatown Experiment, a storefront dedicated to pop ups which provides anyone that has an idea and the desire to bring it to life with the opportunity to make it happen. Every time a new pop up is about to launch you'll catch a sneak peek here on V.I.A.!

At Forest & Waves, they share your passion for the outdoors, travel and adventure. Since they believe nature is the world’s best designer, their paper products and fabric goods are inspired by what you see in both urban and natural settings. Edward Juan, the designer and founder of Forest & Waves, drew from that inspiration to create these products for you. The pop up shop is an experiment in Edward’s vision for the company.

He wanted to create a space with all things Forest & Waves and add other products with our sensibility. If the pop up shop goes well, they might find a more permanent space here in the great Pacific Northwest.

Forest & Waves began in 2012 as a way to combine Edward’s love for design with his experiences backpacking and surfing around the world. The company’s name pays homage to the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest: the smell of cedar, the waves hitting the shore, and the winds rustling through.

The forest conveys the peace found while camping in the woods, while waves conjure up the incredible rush of surfing. The name also reflects Ed's childhood growing up in a seaside village in Taiwan.
