Born and raised in Vancouver, Jennilee Marigomen is a multitalented photographer I have know for a year now, and I am constantly amazed by the diverse work she produces. She is also one of the warmest and most thoughtful people i know.
A very established art photographer, having been published and exhibited internationally, Jennilee primarily shoots with 35mm film, together with her sensitive and emotional aesthetic and unique eye she has created some of the most interesting and diverse photos I've seen. She has the ability to capture moments most of us miss, though once you see her photos they immediately draw you in. Along with her artistic work, Jennilee also works for international commercial clients on fashion and editorial projects. These images would be right at home on the walls of a gallery.
Constantly walking throughout the city with her camera, her unique eye captures Vancouver in ways I've never seen before. If you ever go on a walk with her, you have to be prepared to stop frequently while she captures what you may have missed. It is uplifting to see her become completely immersed in the moment when she is shooting. She is never more excited than when she gets her photos developed. Her passion for photography is inspiring and it is amazing to see the volume of amazing work she produces.
I am very lucky to have a sizeable collection of her work throughout my apartment to the extent that I'm running out of wall space and am now hanging new acquisitions in my studio.

THE QUESTIONS
1. What neighborhood do you live in?
I live in Mount Pleasant.
2. What do you do and where?
I work as a Photographer and Photo Editor for the online publication 01 Magazine. I have also worked in the Art Department at Timebomb Trading, a clothing distributor, for the past 8 years.
3. What are you working on?
I am working on a few lookbooks and commissioned shoots, and a group exhibition at Gallery Steinland Berliner in Stockholm.
4. Where can we find your work?
I have photo installations currently showing at Neighbour and Lifetime’s Wilderness Workshop in Vancouver. Some of my published work can be found in Inventory Magazine, The Plant Journal, Free & Easy, Hypebeast Magazine, and in the upcoming issues of Juxtapoz, Wallpaper, and Citizens of Humanity Magazine. My photo book, Queen of Tsawwassen (With Ali Bosworth, Seth Fluker, Dan Siney, and Chris Taylor) can be found at Inventory, Neighbour, and Old Faithful Shop.

5. Who are your role models?
Wolfgang Tillmans, Andy Goldsworthy, Jason Fulford, Jason Nocito, and Christo and Jeanne-Claude.
6. What keeps you going in this industry?
The zone that you get into when you are immersed in working on your craft.
7. If you had a chance to start your career all over again, how would you do it differently?
I feel like my career is just beginning, and so far, no regrets!
8. What advice do you wish someone would have given you when you were young?
Sleep more!
