More than 66 weeks ago I embarked on a mission to publish 500 Coffees over the next few years. In this series I introduce you to interesting Vancouverites, many of whom I had never met before our coffees/meals. It's an exercise in networking for myself and for V.I.A. while also being a platform through which I enjoy introducing you to some people who are doing really cool stuff in the city you live in.

Meet Christina Bombelli. Certified ISSA, Tabata Bootcamp and Total Gym trainer, CTI Co-Active Coach, Univera Associate and biPro Sponsored Athlete. Holy moly!

We met for lunch for this 500 Coffees at Tableau on Melville, and as you can see here she's close with a friend of mine: Canucks alum, Kirk McLean! He's simply arm candy for this photo though, as he and I have sat down for lunch/coffee a few times over the past couple of years and I wanted to find out Christina's story and share that one with you.

The conversation started with her telling me about the organic, grain fed venison they were planning for dinner, which instantly got me stoked. I'm not much of a fitness buff but local food - and sustainably harvested at that - is something I've got a relatively keen interest in.

I knew from a previous conversation with Kirk that Christina works as a trainer to a number of celebrities in town, and I was curious as to how you get to that point in such a field. As in, how do you attract those sorts of clients? Her answer? Reputation. Do great work with people, know your stuff inside and out, and really help folks, and the work will come. Okay, okay... she just said "reputation", but from what I gathered, that's how she's built her reputation. Over the hour we spent at this table I also gathered that she's got an inherent desire to pass on what she knows. She wasn't trying to sell me on anything but simply offered a bunch of nutrition advice so that it would help me become a healthier person. And it just came out in conversation. That's really awesome.
