Cabaret punk gypsy musician, artist, and enthusiast of all things fun and beautiful, Amanda Palmer is in town for TED, and she is crowd-sourcing a TED-inspired party tonight for Vancouverites.  In true Palmer spirit, the show will be pay-what-you-can-if-you-can with proceeds going to the Vancouver Food Bank. The suggested donation of $10-$20, is a teeny fraction of the $7500 TED ticket price. And rumour has it, you’ll get to see Chris Hadfield himself, the man who blew my mind and won my heart when he sang David Bowie’s Space Oddity FROM SPACE.

From Palmer’s Kickstarter page, which successfully funded her record, tour, and art book.

Palmer alluded on Tuesday on amandapalmer.net that there will be a bit of a variety show of artists and TED guests. She blogged that you can “expect many weird guests” and she continues “my goal was to rope in a handful of scientists and other bizarro TED-speakers…as it currently stands, I have at least one Geoff Berner, one Bora Yoon, one famous Harvard professor, and one astronaut who plays guitar.”

Tonight. The Vogue. 9pm. Save me a spot in line.
