Wondrous: The Forest and Sea of the Great Bear

This weekend you can experience a slice of the Great Bear Rainforest right here in Vancouver. The Beaty is launching its latest exhibition, Wondrous: The Forest and Sea of the Great Bear (running now – July 27), with tales and photographs from the region. Intrigued by implications of the Northern Gateway pipeline proposal for the sustainability of the Great Bear, Dr. Andrew S. Wright (Wondrous producer/wildlife conservation photographer) and Darcy Dobell (Wondrous assistant producer/conservation and sustainability consultant) took a journey from the open ocean of the Great Bear Sea and Rainforest to the oil refineries of Brudeheim, Alberta. Their goal – to find their own ground truths about the effects of resource extraction in the region. You can hear their story, ask them questions, and see the resulting exhibition this Saturday, starting at 10:30 am. Exhibition Launch: Saturday, April 12, 10:30 am Location: Beaty Biodiversity Museum, Allan Yap Auditorium Cost: Free with admission to the museum Wondrous was produced by a collection of artists for WWF-Canada and Science World British Columbia.
