If you were to create a Venn diagram where one circle was labeled "cheap" and the other labeled "awesome", the middle point where they cross over could be labeled "Vancouver on the Cheap". In other words, this is a weekly series on things to do and places to go in Vancouver that fall into that magical category of being both cheap and awesome.

Looking for a tasty, cheap lunch near Broadway and Oak? Look no further than Sargam House Restaurant! A tasty little Indian spot, for a mere $5 you can get a take-out lunch packed with rice or potatoes and one of a few choices for a main. Be warned, this is a vegetarian restaurant, so if you're positive a meal isn't complete without some animal, you'll want to move on. You could try for a BYOM (Bring Your Own Meat) option, but that doesn't sound very Food Safe. If you can rock the meat-free, then go for it. And if the take-out lunch isn't quite enough for you today, you can also step inside for an $11.95 all-you-can-eat buffet and eat to your heart's content!
