Davie St Village plaque installed at Bute Plaza 2014

Just in time for this year's Pride festivities in the West End (and all over Vancouver), Vancouver Heritage Foundation's Places That Matter plaque for Davie Street Village has finally found a home at the Bute St Plaza (picnic benches and rainbow crosswalks) at the corner of Davie and Bute. We're pretty sure it's having a lot of fun! If you're out celebrating at the Pride Parade this weekend, consider how this event first took place over 40 years ago, and was considerably smaller. Thanks to Ron Dutton, the archivist for the BC Gay and Lesbian Archives, this history won't be lost. Thanks to the City of Vancouver and the West End BIA for their help in getting the plaque up and to our plaque supporters!
