According to the CBC's Matthew Lazin-Ryder, Prince Edward and his wife, Countess Sophie Rhys-Jones (otherwise known as the Earl and Countess of Wessex), will be spending some time in Capilano River Park this Sunday during his 36th visit to Canada and her 12th (more in THIS feature from The Province).
The Coho Loop that they'll be sauntering down in fancy shoes actually passes right by the fishing spot shown in the trailer for what I've been touting as "Canada's best food show", Salt, Fresh & Field, and there are currently salmon spawning there. The loop goes right by the Cable Pool, a popular place to catch salmon just a few hundred metres from the fish hatchery they're stopping at. But will Soph don a pair of hip waders and cast a line out? Will Eddie join her with a net and land one of these very Canadian fishies so they can take home a story of how they really took part in a local ritual? We just might have to head out there on Sunday and see. http://vimeo.com/95475067
