Today we're digging into THIS edition of the Vancouver Sun which was published on October 6th, 1921. Not exactly the type of warm and fuzzy news we usually deliver, but at least it wasn't in Vancouver. This headline was about a transit accident in Paris.
How about a deal on sugar? That'll make you feel a little better.
Or the fact that it wasn't your "automobile robe" that was stolen! I do hope that fellow got his robe back.
They were doing looks back on the news from yesteryear back then as well.
They were also running advertorials that looked like actual news stories. Go figure.
The Society section seems to be the most awesome thing in this issue of the paper. Especially the headline "Jolly Party for Young People at West End Home".
Prohibition was still on in the states so they were cracking down on some cross-border gangsterism! And the theatres here were doing jolly well.
If you were buying cigars these two "keen" dudes had a deal for you.
And of course, the real estate. It seems as though Burnaby's prices were rising; in the 1930 edition of the paper we shared last week an entire acre was $300. Either these 2/5th acre lots are a heck of a lot better or we've got a bubble starting to form.
