If you were to create a Venn diagram where one circle was labeled "cheap" and the other labeled "awesome", the middle point where they cross over could be labeled "Vancouver on the Cheap".

If you were to create a Venn diagram where one circle was labeled "cheap" and the other labeled "awesome", the middle point where they cross over could be labeled "Vancouver on the Cheap". In other words, this is a weekly series on things to do and places to go in Vancouver that fall into that magical category of being both cheap and awesome.

The folks who have been transforming the Olympic Village into a craft beer-and-coffee oasis have been hosting a series of free community events at Meccania. Sadly I found out about it after the Slide-Rule to Sci-Fi talk, but there's still two more: a Phantoms in the Front Yard art showing and a talk on What is an Artist? by the theatre group Disturbingly Brilliant. I am particularly excited about the Phantoms in the Front Yard art show and reception - I have seen their work before and it is always engaging and exciting.

Check out the info on these final two events at Revolving Door YVR.
