What do Corner Gas The Movie and The Sopranos have in common? First, they were both celebrated TV shows that aired mostly in the early 2000's and starred charming dudes as their leading men (yes I'm comparing Brent Butt to James Gandolfini). Second, they both did six seasons before they wrapped up. Where the two diverge though is that we never got a Sopranos movie 5 years after the final episode aired on TV, and it's not likely that we ever will since their equivalent of Brent Butt passed away last year. Corner Gas, however, they just released a feature film. So back to what the two series have in common: Crave TV.

By now you've likely seen the commercials for it, and basically what Crave is is a $4/month add-on to your cable package that allows you to watch a boatload of "some of the most loved" TV series ever, on demand. Last night I was pleasantly surprised when I turned on my TELUS Optik, flipped to the Crave section for the first time, scrolled past The Sopranos (EVERY SINGLE EPISODE OF EVERY SEASON) and to the very bottom of the listings where Corner Gas The Movie was waiting for me. It's a bit of an anomaly as the rest of the offerings are TV shows and not theatrical releases, but I was happy to see it as I'd been hoping to watch it... and it was just in theatres last month. Next week I might revisit Tony Soprano and company and make my way through the seasons again. But they've also got all 6 season of Corner Gas, so I just might dip into that and hope that nobody moves to revoke my Canadian passport; I thoroughly enjoyed the movie, got a few good laughs out of it, but have never watched an episode of the show (please forgive me).
