Browse through the Expo 86 category on our blog (HERE) and you'll find a great deal of nostalgia and collectibles. We've been writing about the World's Fair that Vancouver hosted since our inception back in 2008, and in fact the second post to our blog ever (HERE) was about Expo. We co-produced the 25th anniversary party with our friends at Science World back in 2011 and are often trying to keep its spirit alive, but even we were surprised recently when we did an Ebay search and found an absolute glut of memorabilia on there. A bunch of collectors brought out their good for the quarter century, but for some reason there's a whole new wave of people trying to get rid of rare stuff that they picked up beside False Creek back in the mid 1980's. Below are 12 of the more random ones you can bid on right now.

12 Random Expo 86 Collectibles You Can Own!

By Vancouver Is Awesome

There's a glut of Expo 86 memorabilia on Ebay right now. Here are 12 listings of some random stuff you should maybe bid on.

  • Japanese Beer Stein

    By Vancouver Is Awesome

This is one of the most rare Expo 86 collectibles out there. Made in Japan, made for beer drinking!

  • Pins

    By Vancouver Is Awesome

Expo pins on their own aren't all that rare on their own but this set of a BUNCH of them is.

  • Baby's Bucket Hat

    By Vancouver Is Awesome

Got a baby? Know somebody who does? This bucket hat would look really cute on their little head.

  • .999 Expo Ernie Official Medallion

    By Vancouver Is Awesome

The metal in this thing ALONE is worth the $23.75 Buy It Now fee.

  • Expo 86 Swatch

    By Vancouver Is Awesome

There were a number of Swatches made for Expo 86. This is the one you might need to have in your life right now.

  • Drinking Glasses

    By Vancouver Is Awesome

Don't be fooled that there's a lot of 3 in the listing; these are actually quite rare.

  • McDonald's Day Pin

    By Vancouver Is Awesome

McDonald's has been holding strong on the corner across from Science World for a while now... since almost around the time "McDonald's Day" happened.

  • Expo Ernie Charm

    By Vancouver Is Awesome

If you own a charm bracelet, you need to have this on it.

  • Shot Glass

    By Vancouver Is Awesome

"Remember how drunk we got at Expo 86? Me Neither!"

  • BC License Plate

    By Vancouver Is Awesome

This is more about the sticker on the plate than the plate itself... unless you drove a beamer ("BMR") back in 1986. There was a replica plate made that says "EXPO86" but it's quite rare.

  • Tin Tin Decals

    By Vancouver Is Awesome

Apparently Tin Tin attended the World's Fair at the Belgian pavilion, and these decals prove it.

  • Coca Cola Cups

    By Vancouver Is Awesome

425 of them. They're nearly-30-year-old plastic and branded with Expo 86. You probably shouldn't drink out of them as they're probably leeching poison by now, but they look cool.
