Recently, the Vancouver Cycle Chic team found out we were an "Official Selection" of the Vancouver Web Fest for the second consecutive year, an accolade of which we are all very humbled and proud. As a part of this honour, we put together a short trailer for the eleven films we've created over the last two years. It provides an overall impression of the mood and spirit of our short film series, giving viewers just a taste of "The Whole Story".

Each time we create one of our #CycleChicFilms, our team brings together a talented group of individuals to create beautiful pieces of "Inspiration". Even the challenge we were given with this trailer, to constrain the imagery, music and dialogue to just ninety seconds, transformed a summary of our body of work into another piece with "Heart and Soul".

In the past two years, the films have been receiving international awards and accolades, including 'Best Bicycle Short Film' at the 2013 New Urbanism Film Festival, 'Best Documentary/Non-Fiction Series' at 2014 Vancouver Web Fest, and 'Audience Choice Award Runner-Up' at the 2014 Filmed by Bike.

There is a "Balance" in the theme of each story that doesn’t just focus on the bicycles themselves, but rather the individuals who use them as a part of their lives. We tell their unique stories.

Be it the "Companionship" of a best friend, the joy of "Observing the Elements", a "Back and Forth" moment "Between the Stops" of a city tour, or the comfort of "Coming Home", each film is an intimate look at people who take different paths, but are connected by the undeniable joy provided by the simple act of travelling on two wheels.

Other cities are starting to catch on, reaching out to us to shine a light on their bikes cultures as we did in Vancouver. In the Spring, we will be heading to Arlington, Virginia to create a new "Musical Spectrum" of films for BikeArlington to impact and inspire. We have an exciting challenge ahead, but are confident the passion and creativity that has produced the award-winning series in Vancouver will lead us on a happy journey!
