Are you passionate about Vancouver's heritage and history? Do you have time to volunteer for VHF by taking photographs around Vancouver neighbourhoods?

Vancouver Heritage Foundation has been working on a Heritage Site Finder interactive map which lists buildings, sites and landmarks found on the Vancouver Heritage Register as well as sites with municipal or provincial designation. This project is in beta form and we are working to complete all details including descriptions and images for all locations. We have a handful of awesome volunteer photographers but are looking for more! We need to collect over 1800 images to complete this valuable educational tool. If you or someone you know is interested in contributing, please email jessica@vancouverheritagefoundation.org to find out more. Check out the Heritage Site Finder interactive map and if you have a good photo of a site that's missing one, feel free to send it to us.

And lastly, it's a big year for heritage in Vancouver as the City's Heritage Action Plan is underway in 2015 and will have a direct impact on the future of Vancouver's heritage buildings and places. Check out VHF's guide to Understanding the Heritage Action Plan (HAP) and keep an eye out for upcoming public consultations. VHF’s Heritage Site Finder will be a useful tool for understanding the Heritage Register, an important piece of the heritage conservation program that will be reviewed this year.
