It feels like it's been a century since we won the Stanley Cup (because it has)

Did you know that the first Stanley Cup championship was played in Vancouver, and that we won it? The Vancouver Millionaires (who would go on to become the Canucks) beat out to Ottawa Senators 3-0 in order to hoist the (much-smaller-at-the-time) cup.

Historian Jesse Donaldson wrote THIS fantastic piece for The Tyee that you should go read.

Also, CBC Vancouver did THIS PIECE with accompanying audio from Rick Cluff's Radio One show this morning. John Mackie wrote THIS LOOKBACK piece for the Sun, The Province did THIS one about us "long-suffering fans" (as you would expect them to!) and Andrew Fleming from the Courier did THIS one for the Courier about how we beat Ottawa a century ago today.
