If one of your favourite local breweries is Postmark (as it is mine) then it's a good day for you; they just released 4 of the beers that you know and love - from their growler fill station, Belgard Kitchen restaurant and various taphouses around town - in bottles!
I was lucky to take a couple of them up into the wilderness this past weekend as a "product tester" to see if they work and I'm happy to report that... well... geez... of course they do. Quite well, in fact. I shot this photo below just moments after pouring my first campfire-side Westcoast Pale Ale while sitting on the shores of Jones Lake near Chilliwack and I was surprised that the experience is beyond what a growler could deliver. I don't hope to take away from the growler experience for you but after filling mine at Postmark nearly every weekend for the past few months I only noticed zest was lacking when I pried to bottle cap off of my pale and enjoyed fresh carbonation that I didn't know I was missing. It's funny to come full circle back after enjoying the ritual of growlers.
Aside from the zestiness inside the bottle, the outside is noteworthy as well. Postmark has partnered with some of the best photographers around to provide imagery for the labels on these releases. Owen Perry (@circa_1983), Jeremy Koreski (@jeremykoreski), Chris Brown (@ckristo) and Alex Strohl (@alexstrohl) all have their images featured on each of the 4 beers released today (Pilsner, Dry Irish Stout, West Coast Pale Ale and IPA) and I'd advise you to keep your eye out for them next time you're grabbing a 650ml bomber at the beer store.
