9 local businesses and one NHL player who care about the future of salmon in BC

This Thursday, April 16th, the Pacific Salmon Foundation is holding its annual gala at the Vancouver Convention Centre West. Their largest fundraising event they do every year, I'm once again proud to have been a part of the team who rallied local supporters of conservation to donate items for the auction which is one of the draws of the event. The night is a celebration of the work this organization does and at $200 a ticket it's an opportunity for people to put their money where their mouth is and show their support simply by showing up.

Here are a few of the local businesses and what they've put into the silent auction:

- CRAFT Beer Market - Family Style Dinner for Six

- Bodega Ridge - Three night stay in a cabin

- Liberty Wine Merchants and The Liberty Distillery - Selection of Wines for Salmon Pairings

- Hawksworth Restaurant - Chef's tasting Menu for Two

- Joey Restaurants - $100 Gift Card

- Local Public Eatery - Two $50 Gift Cards

- The Wickaninnish Inn - One night's stay for two in a deluxe suite

- Native Shoes - Three Pairs of Native Shoes

- Also our friend, former-Canuck Willie Mitchell sent in 2 signed jerseys for the auction, upping THIS donation he made last year!

This is just a small sampling of the items in this year's auction; I'm one person on a team of many who bring in donations and these are just the ones from contacts I made.

I'm also proud to have made the connection between Postmark Brewing / The Belgard Kitchen and the PSF and they're donating a large item in the live auction: they're providing lunch and beverages for a fishing charter for 16 people with Bon Chovy Charters! 4 boats will leave Granville Island for the day, fishing for salmon in the local waters.
