When the Fuller family opened their first Earls restaurant just over 30 years ago it was a simple premise - burgers and beer. What wasn’t so simple was that they cooked those burgers fresh and to order. These days that might sound so normal that it doesn’t even register as anything special, but back then, burgers were fast food - ready made from restaurant chains or something your dad cooked up on the BBQ on a summer night. Back then your choice was... mustard or ketchup. So when Earls decided to cook burgers fresh, from scratch - melt only the best cheese, layer only the freshest lettuce and most flavorful tomatoes, it was somewhat groundbreaking. It was the foundation that, 33 years later, took this, still family owned, restaurant to 63 locations across Canada and the US. Much has changed in those years and there is certainly a lot more than burgers on the menu now. Food is globally inspired with local ingredients and diverse ingredients from across the globe. Gold medal award-winning chefs in the Earls Test Kitchen create recipes all cooked from scratch in each Earls location.

So when they tell you that what they really want is for you to try their brand new selection of fresh, gourmet burgers we think you might want to take notice. It’s what made them what they are.

Here's the lineup...

The Royale with Cheese

What makes it a really good burger... a freshly baked brioche bun hugs a hand smashed, Certified Angus Beef, cooked to order burger patty topped with dry cured bacon, caramelized onions and the freshest lettuce and tomatoes.

What makes it a great burger... well, to start, they make their own mushroom ketchup - and the cheese, oh my! They take smoked applewood cheddar, regular cheddar and Monterey, melt it all down with good ale until it starts to gently bubble, pour it onto baking sheets, let it set and cut it into slices. Voila, that velvety, toothsome melt of a cheese single in an all-natural, delicious, house made slice.

The Rodeo Blue

What makes it a really good burger... real blue cheese is creamy, sweet and earthy with a tang that is mild, not sharp. Melt it over a juicy, cooked to order Certified Angus Beef patty and top it with peppery, crisp watercress. Dijon mayonnaise and pickles add the real tang.

What makes it a great burger... they have hand chopped an artisan chorizo sauasge and blended it into the beef patty for another layor of flavour, and just a bit of spice. For the balance of sweet, well no regular old ketchup will do on this burger - a fresh tomato aioli creates just the perfect balance for the unique ingredients in this burger.

The Forager

What makes it a really good burger... note we didn’t say, what makes it a good vegetarian burger? This hand chopped mushroom burger is as satisfying as any beef burger – only it’s vegetarian. Crisp red onion, mayonnaise, cheddar, fresh lettuce and pickles are added for that total burger experience.

What makes it a great burger...hand chopped mushrooms are tossed in olive oil, parmesan cheese, rolled oats, oregano, pepper and salt for a simple, flavorful, house made vegetarian burger patty - even your most ardent carnivore might just switch to this burger.
