When I first opened the press release for an art installation called ARTIST CHANGES SIGN, I thought it was a joke poking fun at us for our borderline obsession with the MAIN STREET TURD. We've been riding the turd pretty hard and I thought it was somebody's elaborate way of telling us to cool it, that it's not as big of a deal as we think it is (BUT IT IS). However upon further investigation I learned that Scott August is an actual artist, and he created this installation below in front of Welk's on Main Street. He's done other guerrilla art in the past including ARMCHAIR, 25 FOOT COWBOY and BEAR PEAKING [sic] OVER MOUNTAIN GETS NEW COWBOY FRIEND, and this one is in a similar tone.
So maybe it is art, or maybe it's a test to see what this blog will actually publish, or maybe it's both? Either way, we like it.
