Camping season is here and while most of BC's campsites are filling up, there's one spot nestled in the rainforest on the Sunshine Coast that you might've overlooked... Saltery Bay Provincial Park.

Just outside of Powell River, Saltery Bay Provincial Park is a lush, fragrant and enchanting campground on the ocean's edge, where scenic trails, salty swims and clam-digging are all steps away.

And when my partner Johnny and I turned up without a reservation on May long weekend, the place... was... EMPTY. At least, for first-come, first-served campers. The reserved side was mostly filled up with out-of-towners who didn't want to take the chance of being turned way from a full campground. Understandable, but if you're risk takers like us then you'll be rewarded with some seriously private camping in the middle of a BC oasis!

That's where the second episode of Where's Walde takes place, as we discover half the adventure of camping is learning new things and talking to strangers.
