If you're wondering what's going on at Hastings Park between Empire Field and the rollercoaster, well that's just the new BMX pump track that they've installed! The city calls the new area of the park "The Plateau" and it's where the new parkour area, basketball and volleyball courts are. They're officially opening it this Saturday starting at 10am and going til 5pm.
The opening of the dirt track will mostly be focused around younger kids in the morning, then older folks will start riding at 1pm. HERE is the schedule for the entire day which will include drop-in beach volleyball, BMX, basketball, parkour and more.
