Ever wanted to watch an artist in action? Or have a conversation with an artist about their work? On Saturday August 15th ArtsAlly, a Vancouver-based community that connects artists and art lovers, is hosting an outdoor gallery at River District featuring live painters and some of the city’s most interesting and dynamic artists.

This weekend, 10 contemporary Vancouver artists (out of 100 ArtsAlly represents) will display their art for the public at a beautiful location along the Fraser River, beside the River District Farmer's Market. Hosted by Wesgroup, the ArtsAlly event is one in a series of free community events being held in the upcoming 130 acre development to encourage people to come down to explore what is a relatively unknown area of the city.

Set in a picturesque location along the Fraser River pier, some artists will be live painting. Others will be displaying and discussing their work. Here’s a sneak peak at 3 artists who will be there:

"Art is so much more than an Ikea print. This is living, breathing art that has a strong emotional connection to the local environment and the local arts community,” says ArtsAlly founder, Michelle Martin. "Arts Ally is about creating opportunities and enabling the public to support local, independent artists. We also help artists expand their reach globally through our new parent company, Whole New Home’s interior design community.”

If you’re interested in art, and want to learn more about the local art scene, check out some of the amazing art online at ArtsAlly or come down to their event this weekend.
