30 photos showing off our city's diversity

We discovered a growing new Instagram hashtag over the weekend: #vancouverite. It's got a little over 10,000 images, so not so many that spammers have grabbed onto it, or that people from out of the city have started to use it to get our attention in Vancouver. The images shown in it are what we believe to be unadulterated looks at the people of our city, and the diversity of people is just awesome. These are Vancouverites.

In a totally nonscientific study we grabbed the latest 30 selfies posted to this hashtag (shown below) and concluded that aside from simply going outside and taking a look around, browsing the #vancouverite is the best way to be reminded of just how awesomely diverse our city is. And we don't simply mean race (thought it is illustrated here), but also just the different types of people and personalities. We're lucky to live in a place filled with a super interesting mix of people.

If you've got friends from out of town who are wondering what type of people make up Vancouver simply send them this link: instagram.com/explore/tags/vancouverite/
