They're putting 4,200 trout into urban lakes

Hopefully you caught THIS RECENT PIECE I wrote about the small lake that's inside the grounds of the PNE at Hastings Park, and how the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC keeps it stocked with trout for kids to catch.

Hopefully you caught THIS RECENT PIECE I wrote about the small lake that's inside the grounds of the PNE at Hastings Park, and how the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC keeps it stocked with trout for kids to catch. I was pretty excited to hear that with their next round of stocking they're inviting the public to watch - in person and online.

Starting at 8am tomorrow at the Fraser Valley Trout Hatchery 4,200 rainbow trout will be loaded onto a transport truck (much like the one pictured here) for a "Stock Around" trip that they're going to be chronicling on Twitter through @Go_Fish_BC. They'll be hitting up 5 local (mostly urban) lakes in the Lower Mainland, uploading photos and video as they go. The first stop is at Lafarge Lake in Coquitlam at noon. Tune in or make your way out to these spots and catch it live!
