It was the first CreativeMornings of 2016 and what better way to celebrate creativity than to do it visually? Happening the first Friday of every month, CreativeMornings is a breakfast series aimed at bringing the community and creativity together to spark inspiration. For January, we brought in Sam Bradd to speak on how he sees language visually as a graphic facilitator.
What's a graphic facilitator? In short - they draw out what people say. See Amanda Fenton's visualization of Sam Bradd's talk below.
Communication is a tricky thing - even if you're really clear in what you're saying, people are always going to interpret it in different ways. To avoid miscommunication, it's best to have a graphic facilitator to make sure no one misunderstands the message. Don't worry if you're not a bonafide artist - all you need to do is use simple shapes, add colour, post-it notes, icons, typography...and play!
To give everyone a leg up on the year, Sam even gave out great booklets to help everyone visualize their goals for the year.
