CANstruction Vancouver- A Food Art Competition to Fight Hunger

Happening now, Canstruction Vancouver is an annual design and build competition that takes place in over 160 cities world wide. Teams of architects, engineers, designers and schools get together to CANstruct fantastic, giant sized sculptures made entirely out of tin cans.

Over twenty teams are competing in this year's Vancouver competition and these fabulous works of art and engineering prowess can be viewed for free at the Pacific Centre Mall at the Rotunda entrance and at the HSBC Building at 885 West Georgia Street until May 13th.

At the end of the competition, 100 per cent of the food used is donated to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank for distribution to community emergency feeding programs. Since its humble beginning in 2002, Canstruction Vancouver has raised over 1,318,000 cans of food to help those in need. One CAN make a difference!
