There are some fabulous 30th Anniversary, Expo 86 themed events happening around Vancouver over the upcoming months. The Pendulum Gallery will be exhibiting images in an Expo 86: Untold Stories exhibition, and the Museum of Vancouver is hosting a Recollecting Expo 86 event.

We also have another brilliant way for you to celebrate and remember this pivotal moment in the city's history: contribute your stories and images to the Vancouver Public Library's Expo 86 Project. Your recorded memories and submitted images become part of the This Vancouver online archive project. The Expo 86 legacy will have a home online!

Expo Minute: Share your Expo 86 memory at VPL

If you would like to contribute images:

VPL will be collecting digitized photos of Expo for an upcoming online exhibition that will launch in May 2016 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Expo 86. Pull out those old albums and shoeboxes of photos and get digitizing! If you need to scan and spruce up those old photos you can use our scanners and editing software in the Inspiration Lab at the Central Library. More information on how to submit can be found here: http://www.vpl.ca/programs/details/expo

If you would like to share a story:

The VPL's Central Library is offering drop-in memory recording sessions at the Libraries Inspiration Lab on May 7th and May 12th. Head over to the lab and make your personal memories a part of a collective Expo 86 history!

More information on these sessions can be found here: https://vpl.bibliocommons.com/events/search/q=Expo%20Memory
