Are you still a Muggle?

Sadly, a visit to Hicks Lake in Sasquatch Provincial Park, north of Harrison Hot Springs, won't turn you into a witch or a wizard, but it could be your introduction to the allegedly magical world of geocaching.

The Hicks Lake Trail is an easy, four-kilometre loop. It requires just an hour and a half to walk, but you can easily take double that if you go looking for hidden treasure.

There's several geocaches of varying difficulty stashed around the lake. To find them, you'll need a GPS receiver loaded with geocache data or a mobile device with a geocaching app.

Searching for geocaches (and their esoteric contents) in stumps, under tree roots, and along the shoreline is a ton of nerdy fun, especially with kids.

Just make sure you don't let those clueless Muggles see what you're up to.
