Restaurant Rumble is Back!

Lets talk about boxing. What would make a person want to get in a ring and (potentially) be beaten to a pulp? Well, in the case of Aprons For Gloves’ Restaurant Rumble, the intentions are all about giving back.

AFG 2Aprons for Gloves asks members of Vancouver’s restaurant community to undergo months of intense physical training in preparation for an epic boxing match hosted to raise funds for the organizations historic boxing program for at-risk women and youth.

Founded in 2012 by a small group of professionals and entrepreneurs, Aprons for Gloves focuses on providing community outreach through the sport of boxing. The program offers free mentorship and training to individuals who may otherwise not have the resources or support to participate in such activities. The Gastown based non-profit believes the sport teaches discipline, respect, hard work and self-control, while training results in positive self-esteem, good health and camaraderie for all its practitioners.

AFG 1Now in its fifth year, Restaurant Rumble has rightfully earned its reputation as one of the city’s most entertaining fundraisers. This year’s event is happening July 27th at the Commodore Ballroom. To learn more, donate or buy tickets, visit their website HERE.
