Tomorrow and Saturday our Olympic cauldron will be burning in Jack Poole Plaza! It's of course being lit to celebrate the opening of the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Rio, in honour of our more than 450 athletes who have made it down there to represent Canada.

Community, Sport and Cultural Development Minister Peter Fassbender will be making remarks at 6:45pm tomorrow and notes that “the Olympic Cauldron holds significant meaning to British Columbians. Since that time, our province has continued to provide training and support services for future Olympians and we’re very proud of the many athletes from British Columbia representing Canada at the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Summer Games”

Go Team Canada!
