Dal Grauer Substation
BC Electric opened the Dal Grauer substation on Burrard Street in 1953 to rave reviews. Architectural historian Harold Kalman described it as “uncompromisingly modernist, with the brilliantly-colored workings exposed behind a transparent glass wall—which was replaced with opaque glass, following a minor explosion.”
