1. Canada Day Fireworks

Vancouver’s only two-barge simultaneous pyrotechnic extravaganza. Watch the sky come alive in celebration of our nation’s 150th. The two fireworks barges are located in Coal Harbour, and Dundarave in West Vancouver.

2. Free Canadian Movie Screenings

As the centrepiece of the year-long Canada on Screen program, The Cinematheque celebrates Canada’s 150th birthday with a week of free screenings featuring Canada’s most iconic and innovative films.

3. YVR Food Fest Canada Day Cookout

Presented by the YVR Food Fest, the Canada Day Cookout in Hinge Park will feature top bands and DJs paired with delicious BBQ, craft beer and cocktails.

4. Canada Day at Canada Place

One of the biggest Canada Day celebration in the country! The daytime event includes five performance stages featuring Sam Roberts, FEFE, Emerson Drive, Hey Ocean, Dragonette, Madeline Merlo, The Matinee, and many more. Festivities start at noon while the Canada Day parade gets going at 1:30pm. Expect food, crafts and tons of live performances.

Nardwuar and his band the Evaporators are playing a free show at Grandview Park in Vancouver on July 1. They hit the stage at 2:00pm!

In honour of Canada’s 150th birthday, UBC Botanical Garden has been offering special maple tree tours since the beginning of spring. “The tour was created in celebration of Canada 150 because the maple leaf is Canada’s iconic symbol, and it also gives us an opportunity to explain to the public that most maple leaves don’t look like the one in the Canadian flag”

9. Canada Day on Granville Island

So much to see, do and eat! Check out the musical playground, artisan markets, maple crepes, Canadian comedy, crafts, live music, and Canada Day Parade all happening on Granville Island.

Where BBQ meets your favourite indie bands. Celebrate Canada’s 150th from the parking lot of the historic Waldorf Hotel in East Van.

Ponder the present moment from the imagined vantage of 150 years into the future with FUSE: 2167, a night of art, music and live performance at the Vancouver Art Gallery.

New West’s Canada 150 activities include arts and heritage workshops, community groups presentations and diverse performances that celebrate the story of Canada.

19. Canada Day at Waterfront Park in North Vancouver

Festivities take place from 12:00pm to 4:00pm. The North Vancouver Canada Day Celebrations is a free event and includes fun things to see and do for all ages!  There will also be a special evening event for Canada 150 from 6:30pm -10:30pm. This event will include a free concert in the park, a beer and wine garden, food trucks, and the perfect spot to watch Vancouver's Canada Day fireworks.

20. Spirit 150 in Victoria’s Inner Harbour

Commemorating Canada’s 150th year of Confederation, Spirit of 150 Victoria will present over 100 free live performances in Victoria’s Inner Harbour. Performers include Arkells, Tegan & Sara and more.
