This month, Nardwuar is celebrating the 30th anniversary of his radio show on CITR. To commemorate the occasion, we asked the Human Serviette about his favourite bands, record stores and what's most inspiring about living in Vancouver. Here's are his answers:

1. Local Music!

Nardwuar: Needles//Pins, SBDC, Jock Tears, Jay Arner, Fashionism, Vicious Cycles, venues like the Red Gate, SBC Restaurant, Fortune Sound Club. So much is happening in Vancouver! Plus legendary Vancouver bands such as The Pointed Sticks, Slow, The Dishrags, DOA, The Villains, The Suhumans, CUB, DOA, Sparkmarker, The Painted Ship, and The Northwest Company.

2. The Tomahawk BBQ in North Vancouver!

Nardwuar: The longest running restaurant in the Vancouver Area, the Tomahawk is known for the Skookum Chief Burger, which is three meals in one! Bacon and Egg for Breakfast; Hot dog for lunch; and Meat and Cheese for Dinner! All in one burger! Bryan Adams once washed dishes at the Tomahawk, which has hosted everyone from Bill Gates to Playboy Playmates to Punk Rock Bands to Olympic Athletes!  A lot of history has been erased in Vancouver but the Tomahawk lives on! Above is a video of me having an eating contest with the band Southern Culture on the Skids at the Tomahawk.

The Tomahawk is located at 1550 Philip Ave in North Vancouver.

3. Vancouver Mags and Blogs!

Nardwuar: Discorder, Beatroute, Livevan.com, vancouverisawesome.com, Miss604.com, The George Straight, Blogra, alienatedinvancouver.blogspot.ca.

4. Vancouver Record Stores!

Nardwuar: Neptoon, Zulu, Red Cat, Red Cat Hastings, Dandelion, Zulu, Audiopile, Highlife, Vinyl, Beatstreet and more!

5. Burcu's Angels ( 2355 East Hastings)

Nardwuar: A new location for an amazing clothing shop!  For me it is cheap, wild and wacky! For others it’s classy! My most recent purchase was a vintage mod blazer from the 60s! Doot doo !

Starting at 9:00pm on September 21, Nardwuar will conduct a Nardwuar Radio Show marathon on CITR until 5:00pm on September 22. This will be followed by an Evaporators show at The Hall on September 23, all of which celebrates Nardwuar’s 30th anniversary as the Human Serviette.
