'Bear on train tracks' most B.C. reason ever you're late to work

Move over, plain ol' traffic jams.

Move over, plain ol' traffic jams: West Coast Express riders got to use the most British Columbian excuse for being late to work Tuesday morning, when a bear on the train tracks caused delays.

TransLink got the word out via Twitter:

Naturally, the response Tweets were chock-full of bear GIFs and images.

But the bear in question wasn't a grumpy Winnie the Pooh, but rather a young cub near Coquitlam station.

CCTV footage shows the young bear crossing the tracks:

Bears are pretty common in Coquitlam and neighbouring communities, authorities told the Tri-City News, thanks in part to the animals finding food in residents' garbage cans.

Luckily, the bear cub made it safely off the West Coast Express tracks Tuesday morning, and train service was restored.

Now, if you want to find cougars, Port Moody might be your best bet...
