Halloweekend is upon us, and as the big night gets closer Vancouver is likely to enjoy sunny days and cold, clear nights. We may even get treated to a rain-free Halloween--great news for the lower mainland's trick-or-treaters.
Environment Canada is forecasting mostly sunny days from October 27 to 31, with daytime highs in around the 12 to 14°C range.
Our nights, though, are going to be chilly, with temps dropping as low as 3°C on Halloween eve, aka October 30.

There is a 40% chance of showers on the night of the 31st, says Environment Canada, but the Weather Network has been feeling optimistic, when taking a look at the national Halloween forecast.
"The best chances for a mild and dry Trick-or-Treat this year will be for the Pacific coast, including Vancouver and Victoria, thanks to the strong Gulf of Alaska ridge," notes the Weather Network.

In any case, it looks like when it comes to the spookiest night of the year, 2017 won't be in the running to best our rainfall record (57.2 mm in 1981), warmest temp (16.1°C in 1949), or coldest temp (-5.9°C in 1984). Just make sure you've got a warm jacket or some cozy layers to go with your costumes.
