28 photos from a drive through Vancouver in 1966 (PHOTOS)

There are some notable landmarks in here, as well as a wonderful snapshot of what life was like on the roads of Vancouver in 1966.

A while ago we shared a video shot in Vancouver more than 50 years ago, produced by the Ministry of Transportation (WATCH IT NOW IF YOU HAVEN'T; IT IS SO GREAT).

It was shared hundreds of times and was mostly met with positive feedback except for one thing: a great deal of people (us included) thought that the video went by too fast, and that it would be great to get a better look at the spots that whizzed by.

The video was shot as a time-lapse with one photo being taken every 80 feet or so, so it actually wouldn't make sense to slow it down. Instead, we asked the Ministry to supply us with the individual still images, and they obliged with the ones in our gallery.
