"Thanks to the recent colder temperatures and natural snowfall over the last week our operations team has been able to get Whistler Mountain ready to open early," notes their website.

Blackcomb Mountain, however, will stick with their scheduled opening date of Thursday, November 23, as will the PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola.

For opening day at Whistler, Whistler Village Gondola and Creekside Gondola will be in operation, starting at 8:30 am, and the last upload will be at 2 pm. 20 runs will be open, and early season hazards will exist. Check their website for all details about this early open.

Whistler's early opening comes on the heels of the long-weekend opening of other ski areas near Vancouver, namely Cypress and Grouse. Check out when you can hit the slopes across B.C. here.
