100 holiday eats and treats to try in Vancouver this Christmas

We've rounded up 100 incredible eats for the young and the young at heart you'll find right now in Vancouver. There's everything from egg nog doughnuts to Turducken sandwiches, and a lot of delicious treats in between.

'Tis the season for EATING, right? From modern takes on classic traditions like Buche de Noel, or bold and sweet new chocolatey frontiers, there's much to indulge in come Christmastime in Vancouver.

We've rounded up 100 incredible eats for the young and the young at heart you'll find right now in Vancouver. There's everything from egg nog doughnuts to Turducken sandwiches, and a lot of delicious treats in between.

1-14. Butter Baked Goods

The beautiful bakeshop will have a slew of holiday-time treats, including: Shortbread, chocolate caramel shortbread, yum balls, fruitcake, Butter's own panettone, seasonal cupcakes, seasonal cakes, candy cane bark, bars, cookies, marshmallows, s'mores, peppermint whoopie pies, mince tarts, gingerbread men, yule logs, and a turkey sandwich with stuffing and cranberry (available in the cafe until December 24).

15-22. Thomas Haas

For his 2017 collection, Thomas Haas features an assortment of handcrafted chocolate creations including Rudolf in the Forest, Ornaments, Truffle Trees, Snowman, Stuffed Santa Boot, and Tannenbaum Tree. In true Christmas fashion, Thomas Haas will also offer his famed Stollen and lineup of eight Yule Logs inspired by his most popular cake flavours. All 2017 Holiday products are available at the two Thomas Haas cafes in North Vancouver and Kitsilano.

Vancouver's newest ice cream parlour is decking the halls with decadent French-style treats, including: Gingerbread cookies, peppermint meringues and marshmallows, cardamom zucchini bundt cake with orange glaze, pain d’épices (spiced gingerbread), and limited-edition ice cream flavours (Pain d'Épices, Eggnog & Rum, Mont Blanc, Candy Cane).

The Joy of Christmas (tea) is brewing at TWG on Georgia. They have lots of treats, including a Joy of Christmas Tea infused yule log, encasing a chocolate hazelnut sponge cake filled with a luscious Joy of Christmas Tea-infused cream mousse accented with vanilla & orange custard and cinnamon Streudel, coated with a milk chocolate glaze.

30. Meat & Bread

Meat & Bread's popular holiday-time Turducken sandwich will be available just on December 21 to 23. Available at both Cambie Street and Pender Street locations, this year’s Turducken carve will be topped with a cranberry apple mostarda, pumpkin seed crumble and radicchio red cabbage slaw. Turducken is available while supplies last each day for $12.50 a sandwich. There will be lines!

31-42. Chez Christophe

For his fifth Christmas at Chez Christophe, Christophe Bonzon has a new line-up of bonbon-filled chocolate art sculptures, all inspired by iconic holiday symbols or classics: A mini Christmas Tree adorned with truffles; XMAS All Around featuring holiday typography; Burnaby’s Little Helper, a cute chocolate elf; a reindeer on a runaway sled called Oh, Deer!; and a beautiful and delicate, lace-wreath named Wish upon a wreath featuring chocolate stars and truffles.

In addition, new flavours have been added to the popular Chez Christophe Bûche de Noël (yule log cake) collection, including Santa’s Coffee Break featuring a chestnut sponge, cappuccino mousse, cinnamon nameleka and chocolate shavings, and chestnut puree; A Slippery Slope featuring matcha namelaka, matcha chiffon, lemon yuzu mousse and white chocolate sesame crunch; and Merry and Bright featuring milk chocolate mousse, mandarin cremeux, mandarin compote and mandarin sponge with cocoa nibs.

Other holiday treats include:

Maitre Chocolatier and Patissier Chef Thierry Busset is set to dazzle this Christmas with an array of treats. His Buche de Noel come in five flavours (Chestnut; Blood Orange; Pecan, Coconut, and Chocolate; Fromage Blanc; and Chocolate Caramel), and there are also seasonal macarons (Cranberry, Gingerbread, Stollen), spiced tarts, Kugelhopf, and a Burnt Orange Creme Brulee.
