The Greater Vancouver Board of Trade (GVBOT) announced Tuesday afternoon that tickets to a moderated afternoon discussion with Obama on February 15 at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre will be made available exclusively to GVBOT members starting Monday, January 22. Any remaining tickets will be made available to the general public on Thursday, January 25.

“We are thrilled that Michelle Obama, Former First Lady of the United States, will join the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade in an afternoon moderated conversation,” said Iain Black, president and CEO of the GVBOT.

“Our focus will be engaging the participants and organizers of our sold out WE FOR SHE forums, and those of our unique GVBOT Signature Programs: Leaders of Tomorrow, Company of Young Professionals and our Women’s Leadership Circle.”

The added event comes than a week after tickets to the GVBOT's initial event with Obama on February 15 sold out. Tickets, which ranged up to $658.20 apiece, had been made available exclusively to GVBOT members during a special pre-sale, and sold out before any could be made available to the general public – an issue for which the GVBOT caught criticism online.

Both events are being held at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre on February 15, and will mark Obama’s first official visit to Vancouver.
