Earlier this week it was announced that a total of seven B.C. based bands, artists and comedians had been nominated for awards at this year’s JUNOs.

Nominees include soon-to-be-stars like local funk-rockers Five Alarm Funk (Best Instrumental Album) and metal juggernauts Anciients and Archspire (Best Metal Album). Canadian industry heavyweights like Hedley, Theory of a Deadman, Diana Krall and Burnaby-born JUNO Awards host Michael Bublé are up for awards, as well as everyone’s favourite band, Nickelback, who are up for Rock Album of the year.

While music is the primary focus of the award show, local comedians Ivan Decker and Charles Demers are also up for Comedy Album of the Year.

It’s going to be great to see some local acts win big in their hometown! The JUNO Awards take place March 25, 2018 at Rogers Arena.

This is the fourth time that Vancouver has played host to Canada’s Music Awards ceremony; shows previously took place in 1991, 1998, and 2009. This will mark Bublé’s second appearance as host.

The award ceremony will broadcast live on CBC. Learn more HERE.
