New transit system mugs quench our thirst for Vancouver merch

TransLink has added even more items to their online merch shop, including a cute set of four mugs, each focusing on a community and its corresponding major train and B-line routes.

Back in November we asked: "Would you wear a TransLink t-shirt?"

That's because the public transit agency had just released a line of TransLink-branded merch, from toss cushions to beach towels, featuring stop names and iconic images from Vancouver's transit fleet. You know--SeaBus water bottles and SkyTrain map shower curtains.

Fast forward to just a couple of weeks ago, and we were wondering if there was a market for merch branded by the City of Vancouver itself--namely a city map umbrella, that, full disclosure, this Vancouverite has been coveting for about four years now.

The thirst is real, perhaps.

Now TransLink has added even more items to their online merch shop, including a cute set of four mugs in the drinkware category, each focusing on a community and its corresponding major train and B-line routes: Commercial-Broadway, Lougheed Town Centre, Waterfront, and Broadway-City Hall.

Each mug retails for $13.95--not quite the deal the $11.95 retro destination blinds black mug goes for--but they are among the more affordable options in the TransLink store.

TransLink has also added in a USB stick that looks like an accordion bus, with the stick opening at the...you guessed it...accordion.

If you, or someone you are shopping for, is a transit lover, this expanded TransLink store selection might be worth checking out. And here's hoping the City jumps on the branded merch train, too.
