Hello cat lovers and cat browsers! The Van City Kitty email has been acting up for the last little while. Please hold on to your cat photos, and I will let you know when it’s back up! Normally, you’d be able to click here to find out how your cat can appear on Van City Kitty. You still can, and (read all about MY cat) but… the email won’t work at the moment. Sorry!
Every month (currently more often) we feature a kitty or two who are looking for their forever home. Since I’ve run out of your kitties until the email is back up, here’s another kitty who is in need of a companion! Here’s an older gentelman from VOKRA!
|Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association (VOKRA) is a no-kill, non-profit, registered charity dedicated to the rescue of cats in the Lower Mainland that is run entirely by volunteers with no paid staff.
VOKRA does not have a shelter; they provide over 300 individual foster homes which helps to protect the very young from colds, distemper, parasites and other transmissible illnesses. In a home environment, cats are safe and well socialized, with lots of love and attention.
VOKRA also has an extensive TNR program, which means they trap, spay/neuter, and work with community cats to control the homeless cat population.
Stitch is a well-mannered older gentleman at 13 years old. (Many cats live to be over 20 – mine is currently 19! So don’t let age stop you from bringing this soft companion into your life.) Not only will Stitch warm your lap, occupy the foot of your bed, and act with the refinement of a cat who has long-ago learned how to behave in your home, but he is also happy to play with dogs! In fact, Stitich loves dogs so much that VOKRA and the foster family insist that he is adopted into a family with a dog who can be his friend.
Do you have a dog who needs a feline friend as much as you do?
