24th Annual Christmas Wish Breakfast

December 7, 2011

Hi everybody! It’s me, Arlo, Vancouver Is Awesome‘s youngest blogger. Yesterday my dad posted THIS video of me leading up to the Pan Pacific Vancouver‘s 24th annual Christmas Wish Breakfast which we enjoyed bright and early this morning. I brought those toys I was holding in the video down from our room and added them to this massive pile of other toys for kids in need.

Pan Pacific Vancouver
I give a thumbs up to piles of toys!

The Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau will be receiving an avalanche of toys pretty soon because my mom and dad and me and about 5,000 other people got a free …READ THE REST OF THIS ENTRY>>>

“Cute kid loves dinos” or “Extreme Dinosaurs at Science World”

August 3, 2011

Hi everybody, it’s me, Arlo! I’m V.I.A’s youngest blogger and my most recent adventures were when Christine took me n’ my dad out for PIZZA and when my dad took me on a FERRY to Victoria.

Last week the big kids did a MEDIA TOUR of the Extreme Dinosaurs exhibit at Science World. This week my mom and dad took me to see it and I was going to write a blog post about how super duper awesome it was but I decided to make this video blog instead. Check it out!

Yep, I’m two and a half and I know an 8 syllable word [EDITOR NOTE: "pachycephalosaurus" is actually 7 syllables but Arlo added an extra one, and we forgive him for it]. Seeing life-sized dinosaurs sometimes has that effect on us little guys! Here’s a photo of me, my mom and the T-Rex to give you an idea of how big these guys are. You gotta go see them!!!

Canucks 3-1

April 19, 2011

We might not have beat the Blackhawks in 4 straight games with one of these things pictured below but the score in the series is still 3 – 1 in favour of the good guys. See you Thursday, Blackhawks.

All You Can Eat… Fireworks?

October 28, 2010

Hey everybody! It’s me, Arlo, V.I.A.’s youngest blogger! I’m almost two years old now and you can click HERE to see all of my posts to date.

I’m writing today partly because I wanted to show off half of my super cute halloween costume! I’m going as a Grizzly bear thanks to my super awesome mom and grandma who made the costume for me and I thought you might enjoy a look at the hat part. But mostly why I’m making this post today is to let you in on something else that’s really, really awesome and also has to do with halloween.

Look beyond the cuteness in the photo below and you’ll see the Himalaya Restaurant. Charlie Demers, the author of the book Vancouver Special, and my dad have been having a bit of a public debate about which Indian restaurant on the block between 49th and 50th Avenue on Main Street is the best. You might remember THIS Dr Suess poem that Charlie wrote in defence of the Himalaya after my dad PRODDED him to join him for a meal at his favourite spot, The All India Sweets. Dad caved and Charlie ended up taking him out for lunch at the Himalaya and he’s gonna write about that lunch soon here on the blog. But before he does I just wanted to point out how sweet it is that this restaurant also sells fireworks around halloween! They’re not on the buffet though, you’ve gotta order them ala carte.

Uncle Charlie, could you pick me up some roman candles and a burning schoolhouse? I’m too young to get a permit for them.

In case you want to know what the city is telling you about getting a permit and buying fireworks from a place like the Himalaya, my dad SHARED those details with you earlier this week.

Hey everybody! It’s me, Arlo K, again. If you don’t remember me take a look back on the POSTS I made when I was a baby. I’m a toddler now and I’ve kinda grown out of this whole blogging thing but I wanted to share some information with you:

My favourite local shoe company just released kids sizes!!! This means I won’t have to try to fit into my dad’s Natives anymore…

Take a look HERE!

Lilikoi Lane

May 2, 2010

Hey everybody! It’s me, Arlo, again! I’m V.I.A.’s youngest blogger, I turned one year old a few months ago and you can see all of my previous posts about life as a baby in Vancouver HERE.

Today I want to tell you about a super awesome shirt that came for me in the mail! I’m wearing it in the photo above and it was made by a small local company called Lilikoi Lane. My dad got to choose the fabric and the character and he chose an A because… well, duh… my name starts in A! And the fabric that the A is made out of is sweet because I love hedgehogs and birds and other totally cute stuff.

The lady who runs Lilikoi Lane is Crystal Allen and she’s a mom, a Children’s Book Publicist by day and a crafter by night. She says that she loves seeing her little girl and her friends wearing and playing with things that she created and she looks forward to creating items for your children and your friends’ and families’ children as well. Cool.

Find out how to order one of these sweet, made-to-order shirts HERE! If you want to order anything from her I’ve lined up a special deal where V.I.A. readers get 15% off of their purchase by inputting the discount code, VIA15, at checkout!!
