Hi folks,

I’ve been socked with work and haven’t made a post since the Daily Flickr Pickr. First of all, a big round of applause for Gary Hubbs who has taken the reins and run with them. Talk about extra effort! Every single post is like having a secret Vancouver tour guide with an encyclopedic knowledge base. Kudos.

So I just dropped in to post a photo because yesterday was one of those days that makes Vancouver the best city in the world to wake up in. It was stunning to say the least. Enjoy the weekend.

Well folks, this is it. When Bob asked for volunteers to edit the Flickr Pool for a few months I jumped at the chance. It gave me the chance to familiarize myself with some local photographers, to get a little better at using “The flickr” and business was slow so I had time to lazily browse through the photos and choose my favourites.

this represents 103 days of my life. never missed a day.

Well times change, I’m back to busy season and my long, lazy browsing sessions turned into a mad scramble to choose something and get it online as soon as possible. Even so, I’ll miss my daily forays into to pool to see what new gems have been posted overnight. It’s been really inspiring to see the local talent and it’s always instructive for photographers to spend time looking at photography critically every day.

So thanks for tuning in, tomorrow Gary Hubbs will be taking over and I look forward to seeing someone else bring their taste to the daily flickr pick. As for me, I look forward to continuing to contribute to VancouverIsAwesome.com which I still believe is he best website in Vancouver, and I would encourage anyone to get involved with it and by extension, with your community.

So now for my last pick. What will it be? Well I’m picking my own shot for once! To me, this represents something that very few cities in the world offer, incredible natural beauty smashed right up next to an amazing urban environment. Plus, it’s literally taken from my desk at home. This is my view.

You know it’s becoming winter when the manholes start belching steam. VARious moments caught a little ghost the other day and now I’m sharing it with you.

Tomorrow is my last day picking the Daily Flickr Pickr. I came on for three months, went a little longer, but I’m getting too busy to keep doing it so the torch is being passed. I’ll be looking forward to contributing some more in depth pieces for Vancouver Is Awesome and I hope you’ll enjoy getting a little deeper with me in the future.

I fear that working with my friend Justine is starting to affect my brain. I never used to know that there was a worl of “cute-ophiles” out there that crave “cute” like a drug and have websites like cuteoverload.com. But now I know and there is no turning back.

So Carson Ting brought me a smile this morning and I hope that I bring you one too. Maybe not off the cute-o-meter, but the needle is definitely swinging. Hard.
