An Awesome Showcase, the visual arts show at Shine Nightclub, is opening Tue night and preparations are in full swing.

The images are all printed and were mounted. Lunch can be seen here as well.
It is just amazing to see swings and tires put up by neighbors for all to enjoy. Maybe some of the Olympic athletes will have a chance to take a swing on some of them as they explore Vancouver.

This swing is somewhere around Cambie and 19th. It seems to get a good amount of use from the look of the grass below.
Scott Radnidge’s show at Walrus on Cambie is opening tonight.

Scott was setting up his work Wed afternoon.

With all the visitors due to arrive soon, there are many new and free things to check out. One that just opened the other day is The Northern House. It’s a temporary pavilion to show the world a bit of life in the far north. Go take a look: 602 W. Hastings Street & Seymour, Downtown.
Shine Nightclub and Vancouver is Awesome have come together with Red Bull and Belvedere to present An Awesome Showcase just in time for the winter games.
The three part visual arts show will feature Vancouver’s top established and up-and-coming artists, photographers and designers throughout the entire two weeks of the winter games.
Running from February 12 – 28, the show will be viewable to the public throughout the daytime and will offer visual displays for the night scene as well. When taking in the art works, daytime guests are also invited to slip into Shine’s cocktail lounge to relax and sip on tasty libations.
