Vancouver Is Awesome, and we are dedicated to everything that makes it that way.

If you want to read ugly, bad news about this beautiful city of ours, you’re going to have to look to traditional media and other blogs; V.I.A. promotes everything that makes our city awesome, from old to new and everything inbetween. We’re like the human interest piece on the news… only different.

The Vancouver Book Club

The Vancouver Book Club is the VIA Team dedicated to highlighting what’s awesome about the Vancouver literary scene. The VBC brings you news, reviews, interviews and more on local book happenings (with a positive spin). We’re passionate about literature in VanCity and we know you are too.
We’re all about books by Vancouver authors and books released by local publishers! Aside from our web presence, each season we pick a title and host a FREE, open event where Vancouver book lovers can get together in an intimate setting to discuss the title with each other and with the Author!

We have a number of regular features that we encourage you to check out:

  • Read All Over – Vancouverites tell us about the books in their lives: what they’re reading, what books they loved as kids, how & where they like to read
  • Print Matters – a local look at the printed word in all its forms: magazines, publishers, literary journals, hand presses, & independent book sellers
  • ‘Views – Our look at the literary scene in and around Vancouver: previews of events, reviews of books, interviews with authors
  • And then there is all the other wonderful book stuff that doesn’t fit into those categories!

You can also check out the Vancouver Book Club Facebook Page and follow @VIA_Reads on Twitter!

We also have a calendar of Vancouver Literary Events. Send us an email if you’d like your event to be included.

Membership to the Vancouver Book Club is FREE! Subscribe and you’ll be kept up to speed with all things book club including the details of our seasonal events.
