NAME: Georgia. BREED: Half Beagle, Half British Bull Dog. HOOD: Lower Lonsdale. FAVOURITE SNACK: Anything off the kitchen table when no one is home. Twice that meant a half used tub of Earth Balance Vegan Butter. OTHER INFO: Georgia is the best companion ever. She walks the trails with me in the mornings and keeps my toes warm at night. She is ridiculously cute and I love her so. She is a crazy stunt dog and wrestles with the best of them at the dog park and comes home to be the biggest suck and cuddler. Did I mention I love her so? Today’s dog featured in Dogtown Vancouver is Honey, Lindsay G’s pup. Here’s what she had to say about her…

NAME: Honey. BREED: Boston Terrier. HOOD: Ladner. FAVOURITE SNACK: Her brother Bubba’s eye snot (gross, I know). OTHER INFO: Two-year old Honey isn’t quite as her name would suggest – she’s more of a hot sauce… a little sweetness with a lot of kick! She loves to play and taunts her brother every time she catches the ball and he doesn’t (which is almost always). She also learned to sing at a very young age and continues to do so every time the phone rings. She may be feisty, but her crooked pouty lip will melt your heart every time. Today’s dog featured in Dogtown Vancouver is Vito, Kathleen M’s pup. Here’s what she had to say about him…

NAME: Vito. BREED: Lagotto Romagnolo. HOOD: Kits. FAVOURITE SNACK: He’ll do anything for a dried chicken liver or lamb lung snack. But most of all, he loves socks and shoes. OTHER INFO: This is Vito, the Lagotto Romagnolo, otherwise known as Italian Water Dog. It is an ancient breed, but it almost died out until a doctor decided to breed it back into health. Around the mid-1990s they made a comeback. They are now bred as truffle-hunters. They are high energy, super-smart, and hypo-allergenic. Vito is 2 years old and lives in Kits after spending his first six months in Portland, Oregon, and then Mt. Pleasant. The only thing he likes more than chasing a ball is jumping into the sea. He swims like an otter, tirelessly and vigorously. He loves to lie on the socks and shoes of family members who leave the house. We’ve had a bit of a lull lately in the Dogtown Vancouver submissions from you readers. We know you love your pooch and we know you’ve been meaning to send in photos of them… but we also know that the cat people (the Van City Kitty lovers) are more feverishly submitting their cats than you are submitting your dogs.

Here’s the deal: we feature every person’s Vancouver dog (and cat) that gets submitted. Your pet is totally awesome and we want to show them off to the rest of Vancouver.

The last year’s worth of Dogtown Vancouver!

To submit your dog all you’ve got to do is send at least two photos of him or her to our Dogtown editor, Keith Chan at dogtown@vancouverisawesome.com along with the following information:

1. Dog’s name
2. Breed
3. Name of the hood he/she lives in
4. Favourite snack
5. Anything else you want to write about him/her

Today’s dog featured in Dogtown Vancouver is Angelina, Luisa D’s pup. Here’s what she had to say about her…

NAME: Angelina. BREED: Shetland Sheepdog. HOOD: Kitsilano. FAVOURITE SNACK: Anything that falls on the floor while I’m cooking. OTHER INFO: Angelina is a 13 year old Sheltie who lives in Kits but walks to her owner’s Yaletown office daily. She’s the original office dog at Trialto Wine Group but now shares the limelight with Pete and Diego. Although she doesn’t have a palate for wine she likes to hang out in the staff kitchen in hopes that a crumb or two may fall to the floor. She tends to fall asleep a lot during meetings but if there’s ever applause for a guest winemaker she will join in by running around the boardroom barking her approval.
