Every summer since 2009 the Piano Teachers Federation has been randomly placing pianos in outdoor locations around our city. They stepped up their game last year by dropping 16 of them at strategic locations, and launched a video contest where you could upload a clip of yourself playing one of them for a chance at a prize. If there was one in your neighbourhood I’m sure you can attest to the fact that they really added a layer of awesomeness to the summer months.
Great news came today: they just announced that they’re bringing the pianos back towards the end of June! 18 of them will be released this year and as always they’ll be decorated by different community groups. They’ve also promised to launch another video contest that will include cash prizes and a chance to perform with Lions Gate Sinfonia at the start of their 2015-2016 season.
