In The Playground for the week of December 8-14: Spot Santa on Seymour, A Holiday Celebration with Bobs & Lolo, Fred Penner and Norman Foote and, well, not much else.

Starting Saturday and continuing for the next two weekends, Mount Seymour is hosting Spot Santa on Seymour. Santa will be up on the moutain and kids will have an opportunity to have their photo taken with Santa (with a donation to the Food Bank).

In The Playground for the week of December 1-7: Seussical the Musucal, Draw by Day and all kinds of Christmas events get underway this week.

Granville Island’s Carousel Theatre is bringing Seussical the Musical back to Vancouver for another run from December 1st to January 1st. Some shows have already sold out and other have limited tickets, so act now to the get the date of your choice. Tickets can be purchased online at various prices.

In The Playground for the week of November 24-30: the Eastside Culture Crawl, Family FUSE Weekend, a performance workshop and the start of Vancouver’s holiday festivities.

The big event going down this weekend is the Eastside Culture Crawl and although your average person might not think of it as a family friendly event, our son has enjoyed exploring the Parker Street Studios in the past, so why not give it a go.

In The Playground for the week of November 10-16: Gingerbread, more Family Food Workshops, The Kerplunks, Métis culture and trains!

With Halloween a distant memory, people are beginning to get ready for Christmas—a house in my neighbourhood is already decorated and ready to go. If you’re already counting the days, you may want to check out the Gingerbread Creations Competition and Marketplace at the Hellenic Centre this Friday and Saturday. Admission is only $2 and all admission proceeds will be going to the Make-a-Wish Foundation.

As your kids approach the end of their Halloween loot, now would be a good time to teach them about healthier food options and the Museum of Vancouver has stepped up to provide a fun way of doing it. This Saturday the MOV Food Family Workshops kick off with Sprouting and Lasagna Gardening:
