Volume 69: Spot Prawn Party at Tableau Bar Bistro in Coal Harbour on May 16, 2012. More photos available on Flickr.

Tableau celebrated the local spot prawn season with a party serving poached whole spot prawns (above) with saffron aioli, along with a ton of other concoctions and takes on the shellfish.

There were spot prawns served every which way including as corn dogs (above) on a stick.

Chinatown is moving and changing. The folks behind the Flats of Georgia decided to celebrate and recognize those improving and changing the neighbourhood for the better.

I had the privilege of speaking and judging the nominees for the Heart of Chinatown community campaign with socialite Frances Hui and city councillor Dr. Kerry Jang.

For a little something different and to branch out to the art and everyday neighbourhood living aspect of lifestyle, I went for a little photo walk. I trolled down to the Eastside of 8th Avenue to find this awesome parking lot mural of Science world over looking False Creek.

Inspired by this blog post from Alicia “Fashionista” Quan, I set off to find and photograph this street art visage and snap a few pics to let in some creative juice.

Hard to believe, East Van Love is going five volumes strong with its latest edition of their East Vancouver neighbourhood meetup (and this time, eat up).

For the uniformed, this tweetup was organized (by community leader Ajay Masala-Puri) to highlight the cultural contributions of the East Van neighbourhood. Fittingly, the theme was “food in your community“ set in this family run Vietnamese dining establishment.
